Welcome to the White County Ninth Grade Academy!
Welcome to the Ninth Grade Academy web page! Our web page is designed to disseminate information about our school.  It is designed as a resource for students, parents, and staff.  Our pages highlight what is going on at our school.  It provides a snapshot of student life and activities.  Our web page is being updated on an ongoing basis. Please note that we switched formats February of 2012 and will work to build upon the information made available to the public.
It is important for you to know that the Ninth Grade Academy has high expectations for our students and we are proud of our student response to the increased rigor.  We live in a competitive world and it is our responsibility to prepare our students for competition in a global economy.  As a National Race to the Top School, we are evaluating every facet of our curriculum and programming in an effort to best prepare our students for post secondary success.

Ninth Grade Academy students understand that the bar has been moved from graduating high school to the need to prepare for post secondary education.  Ron Jackson, Commissioner of Georgia Technical Colleges reported that 80% of the jobs in our state now require some form of post secondary education.  Ninth Grade Academy understands that we must prepare our academically diverse student population to succeed at two year colleges and technical schools, as well as four year state and national colleges.  Our mission is to prepare each student to compete and succeed to their maximum potential.

The future is bright for White County, as we now boast an $42,000,000 Internet Fiber Loop (CPOP), known as the North Georgia Network.  This resource will require our school and school system to respond to how we educate our students, as well as what we offer in preparation to provide a work force environment to support this resource.  New initiatives such as Georgia Work Ready, Common Core Georgia Performance Standards and College and Career Ready Index will challenge our faculty, staff, students and parents to work together in a rapidly changing and more demanding environment.  We must keep at the forefront that all of this culminates as a win for our students, assuring their ability to compete in life after high school. Education is critical to the future of White County.

It is our hope that you find our web page user friendly and easy to navigate.  Please e-mail or call if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. To contact me at school call (706) 865-2312 or (706) 865-0727.
